Our International

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers is overseen by a governing body called the International Office (“IO”). IBEW Local 1430 is within the 3rd district of the IBEW. The IO oversees the activities of all the IBEW local unions like IBEW Local 1430, and ensures that all of the IBEW members are receiving the appropriate representation.

Just like with the local unions, the international officers are democratically elected to office every five years as required by the Department of Labor and the IBEW Local 1430 constitution. By joining a local union under the IBEW umbrella, you can rest assured that your rights as a union member will be honored and protected by the local union leadership.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W) International Office is the organization to which our Local Union is affiliated. The International Office provides our Local Union members an added layer of protection and oversight by providing vast legal, professional and industry specific resources. Additionally, the International Office requires that the Local Union provide monthly status reports.

The International Office is ran by officers, which are elected to office every five years at the International Convention. The officers are responsible for making the decisions at the International level. Local Union 1430 is under the jurisdiction of the 3rd district office. To learn more visit the IBEW website.
